Abstract: This project explores the establishment and utilization of the Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM) database in Malay, Aklan to identify demographic and socioeconomic issues and concerns, specifically on migration. This initiative was realized due to the lack of updated data and information that could be used for development planning, program development, and evidence-based decision-making. Policy support was issued to ensure the sustainability of the project and guarantee collective support from all barangays and other stakeholders. This evaluation and documentation aim to assess how the registry system supports the integration of population and development data into local development strategies and approaches of the municipality. Effective data collection, data management, analysis, and utilization are a crucial process that was undertaken to establish the authenticity, validity, and reliability of data collected for appropriate intervention. The methods used in analyzing the data include data generation from the RBIM information system, interviews with the selected municipal officials, and focus group discussions. The results reveal that data were utilized on the following initiatives of the local government: 1) data were used in development planning and decision making, 2) projection of service requirements, 3) migration tracking, 4) identification of unmet needs for family planning, 5) disaster preparedness, 6) peace and order, among others. The results offer valuable insights for policymakers and local government units seeking to utilize this database in the integration of population and development in similar contexts. The recommendation includes continuous conduct of monitoring and evaluation, technical assistance, and capacity building to ensure sustainability and enhancement of the system to suit the evolving needs of the LGU.
